Votre Vu is a relatively new skin care brand from France that I discovered by bumping into the blog French Skin Care, created by a Votre Vu Brand Ambassador. After some curiosity, I decided to order their Free Skin Care Samples. Rummaging through the company website, I discovered that Votre Vu originated from a family of skin care experts who created a line of anti-aging products for 80 years that was originally sold exclusively in spas. According to the site, when an American entrepreneur made his way to France in 2007 with the purpose of bringing the best naturally-based skin care to the U.S. market, the fates of the French family and American entrepreneur collided and Votre Vu was birthed into creation. Having a half French family, I was instantly curious about this line and wanted to test their samples. I also really liked knowing that Votre Vu does not test on animals. Votre Vu translates to "your wish" from the French language.
Company Claims: "Our products are French-made and contain the finest natural ingredients available. They are hand-crafted by a family of artisans who have been perfecting the art and science of naturally-based skin care formulations for nearly a century. Among the many things that set our products apart is the superior proportion of power ingredients within each formula. Many low-to-medium-grade skin care products are comprised of primarily fillers, with only trace amounts of power ingredients. Votre Vu products, in contrast, boast high percentages of the power ingredients...they are superior products that give superior results!"
Products Tested: Votre Vu Attentive Lait Pour Le Visage (Milk Cleanser for Sensitive Skin), Attentive Sèrum Delicat Pour Le Visage (Serum for Sensitive Skin), Fleur Blanc Tonic (White Flower Toner), Attentive Crème de Jour Sensitive Skin (Day Crème), Tout Le Monde Antioxidant Eye Gelée (Eye Gel), Tarte D'amande (Luxe Hand Cream)
Impressions: The booklet in which the product samples come in is so French chic. The booklet is black and white and each page contains a product sample and an brief description of the product. Some pages contain French beauty tips. The booklet also comes with a little pin to poke through the packets so as not to tear the packets and let the fluids leak out after each use. My first thoughts were that these products may be high-end and of a good quality.
Review:
The Attentive Sèrum Delicat Pour Le Visage (Serum for Sensitive Skin) was very watery and had a little bit of bubbly look as I applied it from my fingers to my face on the evenings. The scent was very nice, marine-like and somewhat floral, but the texture was quite sticky and did not seem to absorb very well into the skin.
The Fleur Blanc Tonic (White Flower Toner) was one of my favorites from among the products I tested from Votre Vu because the sample came in a handy little spritzer and was so nice for spritzing on the face or on a cotton pad and removing any leftover impurities from the skin after cleansing. The fragrance was light and it worked to refresh my skin.
The Attentive Crème de Jour Sensitive Skin (Day Crème) was a somewhat light cream that left a shiny finish on the skin, like most UVA/UVB day creams do. It was not an issue as I mattified my skin with a loose powder whenever I used it. The cream has a scent that an aroma that reminded me of milk and flowers, which was quite odd, but it did work well to moisturize any dry areas on my skin.
The Tout Le Monde Antioxidant Eye Gelée (Eye Gel) was of a light blue color and slightly thicker than most eye creams I've tried before as it did not absorb much into the skin but had a bit of a cooling effect on the skin. Since the skin around the eyes does not have much oil glands, a thick eye cream like the one from Votre Vu may work well to properly hydrate the eyes and prevent wrinkles in the delicate eye area.
The Tarte D'amande (Luxe Hand Cream) has a very pleasant, if not delicious, scent. The name "tarte d'amade" translates to almond pie and it smells as delectable as a decadent sugary pie made with almonds! The cream moisturized my dry hands and did not leave a greasy finish, which was excellent.
Overall Rating: 3 out of 5
The Verdict: I really enjoyed the fragrance of certain products from the Votre Vu line and I did not really like the fragrance of other products from their skin care line. The products seem to have the purpose to hydrate and replenish the skin and did effectively work to hydrate skin.

Hi Demzy and thank you for the product review! A quick note on the fragrances - all scents come from essential oils and each product will have a different smell based on the oil. Each oil or blend is selected based on how it affects the skin. The good news is that since they are oils, the scent will dissipate as the oils burn off. And there are some lines I certainly like better than others too :)
